    For many years, Solano College Theatre offered opportunities to K-12 students around Solano county through Solano Youth Theatre. Though we do not offer specific youth theatre courses anymore, we are proud supporters of youth theatre in Solano County.

    Send us an email with your company’ name, location, and a short statement. Open to companies in Solano, Napa, and Contra Costa counties, or companies with a direct connection to Solano Community College.

  • bay area stage junior

    BAS Junior is a nine-week, after-school theatre workshop, instructing students ages 7 to 17 in the art of theatre, dance and song.

    There is a production at the conclusion of the workshop, where the students show off their new skills and also gain performance experience. Whether performers continue with a lifelong career in the arts or not, the BAS team is committed to enriching their lives by fostering a lifelong love and appreciation of theatre.

  • flying monkey theatre Arts (FMTA)

    FMTA exists to provide children with opportunities to learn life skills through dramatic art. From puppetry to pantomime, FMTA takes a unique approach to dramatic art education. By focusing on the true meaning of ensemble, chivalry, and risk, the intellectual, social, behavioral, and emotional growth of each and every child is assured.

    Beginning with a small "backyard" children's ensemble in 2003, the program has since grown to include an after school repertory theatre training program at each Benicia elementary school, a variety of summer camps for children 7-14 years old and leadership/job opportunities for middle and high school students.

    ON THE FRINGE Visual and Performing Arts is an all-volunteer run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Solano County, CA. Our mission is to bring culturally diverse, female-driven theatre and arts education to children and adults in Solano County. We strive to be inclusive in our art: inviting and embracing participants and players of diverse ethnicities and identities, including LGBTQ+ communities. Children take center stage for us at On the Fringe.

    From our first show until today, proceeds from community theatre, private events, and consulting efforts have been consistently earmarked to support scholarships and sliding scales for our primary children's programs. We are proud to have offered full scholarships for the majority of the participants in all our annual Arts Camps and Theatre Productions.

  • Young Artists Conservatory of Music

    YACM provides comprehensive music education to Solano County children learn who can with expert instructors to achieve their highest potential. As a non-profit organization, every student at YACM receives a tuition subsidy through our grants.
