Former Managing Director David Leonard and Artistic Director George Maguire founded SCT in 1988. Both are committed theatre professionals who discovered the seeds of a viable semi-professional company in the rolling hills of Solano County, and have devoted their professional careers to fostering those seeds.
From an audience base of only a few hundred, SCT has doubled in size many times over in a few short years. By taking advantage of the synergy created by combining professional and student talent together, SCT has become the most award-winning theatre in Northern California. SCT has received seven Los Angeles Drama-Logue awards, over thirty Elly awards and in excess of forty Arty Awards. Today, tens of thousands of patrons pass through the lobby doors into SCT's magical theatrical world.
