![]() | Nancy Carlin - Acting, Showcase Director NANCY CARLIN has been an adjunct faculty member of Solano College for nearly 10 years. She also teaches for the American Conservatory Theatre's MFA and Young Conservatory, Berkeley Rep's School of Theatre, College of Marin, Cal Shakes' Artistic Learning, and ongoing private audition coaching. A former company member of A.C.T., Nancy is an associate artist of the California Shakespeare Theater, an affiliate artist of the Foothill Theatre Company, and a company member of PlayGround. Nancy directs for the Foothill Theatre Company, the B St. Theatre, Aurora Theatre, Center Rep, Lake Tahoe and Sierra Shakespeare Festivals, and PlayGround's Emerging Playwrights Festival. Nancy has performed extensively with A.C.T., Berkeley Rep, San Jose Rep, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Aurora Theatre, Marin Theatre Company, and Shakespeare Santa Cruz, among others. She co-produced the film Haiku Tunnel and is the writer of a developing new musical, Max Understood. Nancy holds a BA in comparative literature from Brown University and an MFA in acting from A.C.T. |
![]() | Joseph DeLorenzo - For the Actor Training Program at Solano College Theatre, Joseph has taught Acting, Audition Technique, and Shakespeare. He has been a faculty member for Summer Repertory Theatre in Santa Rosa, CA, and a Guest Artist at CSU-Stanislaus, teaching two intensive studies in Shakespeare, one exploring the actor's voice, and the other concentrating on text and character to construct stage violence.
As a founding member of two theatre companies, GREX in Seattle, WA, and UPSTART THEATER in Racine, WI, Joseph's responsibilities have included artistic leadership, directing, acting, season selection, scenic design, and public relations. As an actor, he has worked with the Polytechnical Theatre of Tblisi, Georgia, American Player's Theatre (Spring Green, WI), Hyperion Theatre (Seattle, WA), and Theater Schmeater (Seattle, WA). He is a member of Popcorn Films, an independent production company in Seattle, WA, where he has collaborated as an actor and screen writer.
Joseph received an M.F.A. from the conservatory actor training program at Southern Methodist University, and a B.A. in Dramatic Arts from the University of Wisconsin. He has been a member of Dueling Arts International, Inc., and the Society of American Fight Directors.

![]() | Brian Herndon - Combat, The Business, Movement Brian Herndon has taught at Solano College since 2003 and at Odyssey Middle School in San Mateo since 2000. He has taught stage combat since 2000 for the Academy of the Sword, based in San Francisco. As an actor, Brian has performed in shows all over the Bay Area, including five shows for SCT: Honk!, Art, Tintypes, The Foreigner and Little Shop of Horrors. Most recently he has appeared as Horton the Elephant in Seussical at Berkeley Playhouse and created the role of Mr. Elton in TheatreWorks' world premiere of Emma, written by Paul Gordon. He has won two Dean Goodman Choice Awards for his work with Napa Valley Repertory Theatre in 1776 and She Loves Me. Brian is a proud member of Actors' Equity, the Society of American Fight Directors, the PlayGround Company and Theatre Bay Area. He holds a BA from Cornell University, an MFA in Acting from the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and is a graduate of the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre. |

| Julian Lopez-Morillas - Shakespeare Julian Lopez-Morillas has been acting and directing in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1973. In eighteen seasons with the Berkeley/California Shakespeare Festival, he played roles including King Lear, Macbeth, Richard II, Prospero, Malvolio, Touchstone, Brutus and Shylock and directed, among others, Pericles, King John, Timon of Athens, Coriolanus, Henry the Fourth Part One, and All’s Well that Ends Well. Julian’s other acting and directing work includes productions at the American Conservatory Theatre, the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the Denver Center Theatre Company, San Jose Repertory Theatre, American Players Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, the Long Wharf Theatre, McCarter Theatre, San Jose Stage Company, San Diego Rep, the Eureka and Magic Theatres of San Francisco, Berkeley Jewish Theatre, Aurora Theatre, Marin Theatre Company, the B Street Theatre in Sacramento, Court Theatre of Chicago and the Oregon, Marin, Colorado and San Francisco Shakespeare Festivals. He has taught acting, directing and dramatic literature at San Jose State University, the University of California At Berkeley, Foothill College and Mills College. He is a recipient of several Bay Area Critics Circle and Drama-Logue Awards for both directing and acting. ![]() | Carla Spindt - Acting, Scene Study, Acting Styles, Intro to Theatre, Conservatory Director Carla Spindt is the Conservatory Director of Solano College Theatre's Actor Training Program. Carla has enjoyed a long professional acting career performing throughout the West Coast regional theatre circuit with such companies as: the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, the Magic Theatre, American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco Shakespeare, Marin Theatre Company, Aurora Theatre, TheatreWorks in Palo Alto, San Jose Stage Company and Houston's Alley Theatre. She has appeared on the Solano College Theatre stages in W;t, Lion in Winter, The Importance of Being Earnest and Shadow Box. Carla has directed plays throughout the Yolo, Solano, Sonoma and Napa Counties for the following: Woman's Will; Sonoma County Rep; Solano County Repertory Company, Napa Valley College Main Stage Season, NVC Summer Season, NVC Shakespeare in the Glade, NVC Children's Theatre; Summer Repertory Theatre; Santa Rosa Junior College She directed Twelfth Night and Bus Stop for Solano College Theatre and Dr. Dolittle and Grapes of Wrath for Solano Youth Theatre. She has received numerous Acting and Directing awards including: Acting - Bay Area Critic's Circle, Dean Goodman. Elly Award - Directing.
