Sponsorship of Solano College Theatre and Solano Youth Theatre offers individual and corporate sponsors exceptional visibility through the season. Approximately $50,000 of our production budget comes from donations, sponsorships, grants and advertising revenue. Your contribution is needed to continue the present world-class performances and sustain our current educational programs. About Our Company:
SCT performs primarily in a 374 seat space located on Solano Community College's main campus. This proscenium theatre can be configured to present intimate productions or major musicals. The full flyhouse theatre comes complete with a scene shop, property shop, costume shop, and dressing areas. SCT also manages and performs in an additional multi-million dollar facility on the waterfront in Old Town Suisun. The new facility has a 175-seat intimate theatre that houses a semiprofessional company produced by SCT. As well, the new facility has an additional scene shop, state-of-the-art lighting and sound equipment, and three small performance spaces (70 - 90 seats each, depending upon configuration) dedicated to producing adventuresome and student works.
SCT presents a variety of works each year from September through May. Traditionally, SCT produces two to three musicals, two to three plays, and a host of professional work each season. These works range from easily accessible popular works, to cutting edge modern American work. All students at SCT are eligible for casting in productions, and play nearly all the major leads in SCT shows.
SCT hires some of the best theatre artists in the country to work alongside its students. Professional actors, designers, and other production staff come and go throughout the year enriching SCT's productions, staff, and students. From Broadway to Hollywood, SCT works to bring the best to its students and patrons.
Solano Youth Theatre is the award-winning youth division of Solano College's celebrated conservatory theatre training program. Surrounded by dedicated educators and industry professionals, young people from all around Solano County participate in quality productions, workshops and classes. Programming is designed to strengthen communication skills, promote team building, supplement teacher's classroom efforts and promote theatre arts. Over six hundred students perform annually in one of our two theatres for more than 10,000 audience members.
