Letter from the Directors

Dear Friends,

As you receive this, you are probably in the midst of blockbuster superheroes, scandalous politicians, celebrity diets, real disasters, ridiculous diatribes (see “scandalous”), pennant dreams, presidential hopefuls, media hype, rising prices, government gridlock, gross-out comedies, reruns, sequels and reality TV. It’s either a sign of the coming apocalypse or its summertime in America. 

Either way, by the time fall arrives, we think you’ll be ready for something a little calmer and more substantial—something that will last. With that in mind, we offer you a season of theatre that is entertaining, to be sure, but also provides a look at what makes us who we are—a season of works that focus on the American experience.

Although there is not a superhero, car chase or explosion in the bunch, we think you’ll agree that there are amazing characters, compelling stories, and a shared experience—a community partnership—that is richer and ultimately more satisfying.
